Responsibilities
- Lead category management strategy and execution across assigned product categories
- Develop and manage assortment, range, and space plans aligned with business objectives
- Analyze category performance using sales, margin, inventory, and customer data
- Identify growth opportunities and recommend pricing, promotion, and assortment actions
- Collaborate with merchandising, demand planning, supply chain, and marketing teams
- Drive category profitability, inventory turns, and customer satisfaction
- Support planogram development and space optimization initiatives
- Monitor category KPIs and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Support new product introductions and product lifecycle management
- Leverage analytics and tools to support data-driven category decisions
- Support UAT, go-live, and stabilization of category management platforms
- Act as a subject-matter expert for category management best practices
- Drive continuous improvement in merchandising and category analytics
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Category Management or Retail Merchandising
- Strong understanding of retail category dynamics, consumer behavior, and buying patterns
- Proven experience managing assortment, pricing, and category performance
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience working with cross-functional retail teams
- Ability to present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Experience working in Retail, FMCG, or Consumer Goods environments
- Experience working in Agile or project-based delivery environments
Education Qualification
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Category Management or Retail Merchandising
- Strong understanding of retail category dynamics, consumer behavior, and buying patterns
- Proven experience managing assortment, pricing, and category performance
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience working with cross-functional retail teams
